Food distribution backed by the group’s own logistics
Tormanas is a food distribution company based in Vilnius. We work with retail, wholesale and food service customers across Europe, backed by the logistics network of the Gevara Group.
The company was registered in Vilnius in 2013. From the start we worked in one narrow field: importing food from the Mediterranean. The first producers were Spanish olive and oil makers, and we still work with some of them.
The second turning point was joining the Gevara Group. The group has operated in transport and logistics since 2007, so instead of buying haulage we gained our own network. From that moment we could talk about the whole chain rather than about a product.
Today we represent fifteen producers from Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom and Belgium, covering eight product categories. Warehousing, customs, labelling and delivery all sit on our side.
History
How what we do today came about
Gevara founded
The transport and logistics company Gevara starts up in Vilnius and later becomes the backbone of the group.
Tormanas registered
Tormanas is registered and begins importing Mediterranean food into the Lithuanian market.
Own warehouse
Operations move to the Liepkalnio warehouse, where labelling and stickering are handled in-house.
Fifteen brands
The portfolio reaches fifteen producers and eight categories, from olive oil to Belgian chocolate.

How we work
One person answerable
Each customer gets one contact who answers for the whole chain, from order to unloading. Nobody has to work out whose fault a delay was.
Price without layers
We buy straight from the factory. With no three intermediaries between the producer and you, the price stays steady even when the market moves.
Not a one-off deal
We have worked with many of these producers since the beginning. A long relationship is what lets you negotiate specifications and get volume when the market is short.
The small print done
Allergens, nutrition tables, retailer codes and customs papers are dull work that stops a load. So we do it ourselves, and early.
