Bister
L'Impériale mustard was created in 1926 by François Bister in the village of Achêne, province of Namur. The recipe stayed in the family, the factory still works on the same site and now has its own museum.
The third generation kept the brand alive and added an organic line. In Belgium a jar of Bister is as much a kitchen given as chips with mayonnaise.
Beside mustard the company makes mayonnaise, tartare, andalouse and other cold sauces, which work in Lithuanian retail and restaurants alike.
